The Fluor Corporation, Roberta K. Randall Charitable Foundation and Marion and David Young present the Third Annual Helen Cordes Award
Luncheon on February 23, 2012 at the Safari Ranch in Richmond, Texas.
The Honoree for 2012 is Linda Schoonmaker, a partner in the labor and employment department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mrs. Schoonmaker is a
dedicated community volunteer, and for the past 15 years has helped Fort Bend Regional Council grow and prosper. Mrs. Schoonmaker served
on FBRC’s Board of Directors from 2004 to 2010 and as the Board President from 2006 to 2008. Her steadfast devotion to countless FBRC
projects has proven her to be a trusted partner in substance abuse prevention in our community. FBRC is grateful for her unwavering
support and enthusiastic presence as a volunteer and leader. Linda Schoonmaker is an exceptional person because, regardless of the event
or her very busy schedule, she always makes the time to help build a healthy and drug free Fort Bend County.
This award luncheon was founded on the community achievements of Helen Cordes who served on the Board of Directors of the Fort Bend Regional
Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. from 1991-1997, and was the President of the Board from 1992-1995. During that time and long afterward,
Helen served FBRC with a passion for our mission and inspired that same passion in so many of us who have been privileged to work with her.
In recognition of Helen’s leadership and long years of dedicated service to FBRC, we established the Helen Cordes Award.
