In 1976, the Fort Bend Regional Council began partnering
with school districts across Fort Bend County to conduct prevention programs tailored to students in elementary, junior and
high school. Since then the council has grown to host a team of 12 dedicated
and specially trained counselors that help kids throughout our community.
Counselors use interactive games and activities in teaching their students
techniques to improve their decision-making, self-esteem, social and
communication skills and to manage stress. This year alone, FBRC will reach
thousands of students during the school year and in summertime camp programs.
"Good kids make bad decisions all the time," says Lisa
Osborne, Fort Bend Regional Council's executive director. "FBRC's programs
equip kids to make good choices."
